Thyme

Thyme herb Plant

Tiny Leaves, Big Flavor

Thyme is a low-growing herb that adds fragrance and flavor to any garden or kitchen. It thrives in sunny spots and is surprisingly hardy, making it perfect for beginners.

Light & Temperature:
Thyme loves full sun, at least 6 hours per day. Indoors, place it on a sunny windowsill or under a grow light. It prefers warm air but can tolerate cooler temperatures better than some other herbs.

Watering:
Keep the soil slightly dry between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so let the top inch of soil dry out before watering again.

Feeding:
A light feeding every 4 to 6 weeks with a balanced fertilizer keeps thyme producing fragrant leaves without getting too woody.

Repotting Tips:
If your thyme becomes root-bound, move it to a slightly larger pot with well-draining soil. Gently loosen the roots, plant at the same depth, and water lightly. Avoid heavy, soggy soil.

Harvesting:
Trim the top leaves regularly to encourage bushy growth. Thyme’s small stems can be snipped as needed for cooking while leaving enough foliage for the plant to stay healthy.
