Lucky Bamboo

Lucky Bamboo brings a calming, peaceful presence into your home with its smooth green stems and elegant form. Whether grown in water or soil, it’s an easy-care plant that adds a touch of serenity to desks, shelves, and small indoor corners.

Light & Temperature:

Place Lucky Bamboo in bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh sun, which can scorch the leaves. It grows well in warm indoor temperatures between 65–85°F and adapts beautifully to low-light spaces.

Watering:

If grown in water:

  • Keep the roots submerged at all times.
  • Change the water every 7–10 days.
  • Use distilled or filtered water if your tap water has high chlorine, as Lucky Bamboo is sensitive to chemicals.

If grown in soil:

  • Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.
  • Keep the mix lightly moist but never soggy.

Feeding:

Use a very diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer once every 6–8 weeks. Lucky Bamboo is sensitive — less is more.

Repotting Tips:

If in water, simply refresh the stones and container when needed.
If in soil, repot every 1–2 years into a slightly larger pot with well-draining mix. Avoid burying the stems deeper than before.

Pruning & Shaping:

Trim yellowing leaves and cut back leggy stems to encourage new shoots. Lucky Bamboo can also be braided or spiraled with careful shaping over time.

Fun Fact:
Despite its name, Lucky Bamboo isn’t actually bamboo — it’s a type of Dracaena, known for symbolizing good fortune, harmony, and growth.
